Daughter of Zion Jr. Academy

"Teaching Christian Standards and Developing Academic Excellence"

Daughter of Zion Junior Academy

Daughter of Zion Junior Academy (DOZJA) is a parochial, non-profit learning institution established in 1993 and operated by the Daughter of Zion Seventh-day Adventist Church. The Southeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists' K-12 School Board of Education oversees the school's curriculum and teaching staff. A belief in the existence of the Creator God is fundamental in the philosophy of Seventh-day Adventist schools. We respect His divine authority and recognize His intervention in human affairs. We believe that true education develops the spiritual, mental, and physical powers of each student; preparing them for the joy of service in this life and for the higher joy of service in the life to come. To achieve this goal, we encourage each student to:
  • Develop a personal relationship with God and His fellow men as stated in Matthew 2:37-39;
  • Master the basic academic skills;
  • Value labor, physical and mental, as the blessing God intended;
  • Cultivate physical fitness, mental ability, and moral purity as the blessing God intended.

The Daughter Of Zion Seventh-day Adventist School operated in harmony with the guidance and direction of the Office of Education, North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. We are accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, Colleges, and Universities. We are a member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation and part of a school system that stretches across the United States, Canada and abroad.

DOZJA's School Mascots - PANTHERS/LIONESSES: Physically Strong~Amazingly Agile~Intuitively Skillful
DOZJA has added to the Panthers mascot the lioness as a second school mascot! The panther is an elusive and powerful animal that has adapted well to a variety of habitats around the world, and is known to be one of the strongest climbers. The panther is not the largest cat in its family, but it is the only one that can roar.  The lioness is said to be a great provider. She is able to go out into the world, successfully meet the challenges of life and bring home the bounty for herself and her family. There is no need to worry about whether she will succeed. The Panthers and Lionesses are a great match because of it's incredible intelligence and strength. DOZJA students will grow strong and excel in their academics this year from the same strength of God's creatures.
